About Our Company

Earthslings Baby Slings are the creation of Australian mother of three Sam Pearson.

"I carried my first baby all the time but mostly in-arms or using makeshift carriers. After searching around I found the store bought carriers available locally to be uncomfortable, awkward to use and only good in limited situations. As a Remedial Massage Therapist I was also concerned about spinal health – both mine and my baby's. I discovered pouch style carriers overseas when I was pregnant with our second child and it revolutionised my life as a busy mother. I loved my first sling but decided to design something similar out of sturdy yet cool fabric with our Australian Summer in mind.

After being inundated with requests to make similar slings for friends and then friends of friends, in 2000 I began making and selling them out of my home on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Over the years my own babies have slept, fed or played in their own Earthsling while I've worked at sewing or the computer so I know first hand how a traditional baby item like a sling can serve the modern mother.

The Earthslings business with it's growing product range along with homeschooling my children has kept me busy. I enjoy making the Earthslings as much as ever and love meeting and helping my customers learn the art of baby-wearing. It's a great feeling knowing that with each Earthsling that finds its way to a family I am helping make parent's lives easier and babies lives happier."
